Yesterday's wonderful experiences

Do you know that feeling when you are all alone at home, you hear footsteps outside and then you turn in a couple of seconds to the window/door to see who is walking by?
I do. I do that a lot when I am all alone at home.

Today I had so much planned and still have nothing done. Watching movies from the fifty's is much more fun. I love the way how the men were at that time. So respectful, full of manliness but with a soft gentlemen side. It is almost like the film Alice in Wonderland – the Disney one, when the women are stable, defined and the men are neat and have a good manner.

For example, when you see an old lady/old man standing by the busstop just a little further away, you would stand up right? We are still young, we have good legs and if we were to fall we would only be left with a small bruise at most. But no, as I stood up to give the lady my seat, no one else would make a move to help the old man at the next busstop. They all stayed as they were and the old man had trouble standing tall as he was desperately holding on to the pole. All I could think was: poor man, the manners in this time are just... terrible.

You may call me old fashion but as an media designer and an 18 year old girl you would think that these things would not matter to me. You are wrong. When people in need are calling we all should answer without hesitation. I guess that is the kind of person I am.

Today I watched 'Miss pettigrew lives for a day'. It is a film about an household caretaker/babysitter who becomes unemployed and then, after a lot of trouble, goes to an household with an lady called Delyssia Lafosse who has three lovers who all want to marry her. The film is played in 1942, when the second world war became serious in England. It is an very cute film but most of all, the ladies are treated like queens and so they look like them. I love Amy Adams, who is also from Enchanted(Disney) and she sings so well.

After that I watched 'Singing in the rain'. I hope you are more familiar with this one because yes, this is an classic. Beautiful costumes, wonderful music and the men are very charming as well. My mother once said as I was mentioning this film, that she was like a crazy fan girl for Gene Kelly. Of course he is an wonderful actor. :)

I guess that will be it for today. Thank you so much for reading. Only two days left before I have to go to school again. No to mention mother's day! I have an gift! :D Good day!

The first post

Hello, My name is Anouk. I am an high school student/college student in The Netherlands with an age of 18. I started this blog because I was bored, I wanted to do something new so I did.
I hope for those who read this, will like it!

Today I had to sing with my choir. It's very fun to do but this time it was a little different!
Normally we sing in the church. Nope, I am not christian but still, it is fun to do with people you love.
Today we sang in an little chapel with handicapt people. Some where screaming through our singing and others were walking around with no reason. It was quite difficult to keep concentrating on singing. ^_–

After that I was lost searching for the busstop! I walked for about 25 minutes and after turning left I had to walk another 15 minutes. My feet were sore. But the sun was shining bright and the birds were whistling so I was happy. Eventually I came home.
Dinner was the leftovers from yesterday. Not very yummy. Especially because I was eating it all alone. Not very much fun. My parents are on holiday... Looonely!

Right now I have to fold up some clothes but the energy to do that is very low..
Just gotta do it! Also I made a new friend today trough ebay! Kenta Hirai is he's name. He's a father of 2 boys and as a lovely wife :P Maybe I will meet him for real one day! 3 days left until I have to do to school again.. NOOO. –_–"

I wish everyone a very nice day, evening or morning! See you soon, Anouk
